Documentary Film On Singer Rossa To Hit Cinemas Next Month
KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 11 (Bernama) -- Renowned Indonesian singer Datuk Seri Rossa hopes her documentary film titled ‘All Access to Rossa: 25 Shining Years’, set to hit cinemas in Malaysia on Oct 18, will inspire viewers, especially women, to keep striving for their dreams.
Produced in celebration of the 25th anniversary of her career, it gives an account of the life story and career of the talented singer, whose real name is Sri Rossa Roslaina Handiyaniy.
The documentary film is directed by Ani Ema Susanti and presented by Time International Films in collaboration with Inspire Pictures and Sinemaku Pictures.
The ‘Hey Ladies’ singer hopes her story will motivate young singers not to give up easily when facing life's challenges.
"Hopefully the stories I’ve shared (in the documentary) have many positive ‘takeaways’. I believe all women possess extraordinary strength, and I happen to have the time and opportunity to tell my story, so (my story) is like representing women in general.
"No matter the field, be it singing or any other profession, if one seeks a long-lasting career, there are many challenges to overcome. It requires patience, perseverance and resilience (to succeed)," she said at a press conference and special screening of ‘All Access to Rossa: 25 Shining Years’ for the media recently.
The 90-minute documentary also delves into a lesser-known side of the 45-year-old singer, featuring appearances by her fellow artistes including Melly Goeslaw, Ariel and Afgan.
Interestingly, Rossa also opens up about her personal life, including her divorce in 2009 from Surendro Prasetyo, also known as Yoyo, the drummer of the band Padi -- a topic she has never discussed before.
She hopes that sharing this part of her life will provide motivation and encouragement to those facing similar challenges.
"I feel this is the right time. Everything is good now, with no misunderstandings or harm to anyone involved. Perhaps in the past, we needed time to make peace with the situation.
"My ex-husband (Yoyo), our child (Rizky Langit Ramadhan) and I have restored our relationship as a family without any conflict. My ex-husband and I are now more like siblings and we both aim to be good parents to our child," she added.
