Imaji Concert Tour: Aina Abdul’s Dream Come True
KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 11 (Bernama) – Despite facing various challenges, popular singer and composer Aina Abdul is determined to bring her first concert tour, the Aina Abdul Imaji Tour, to life at three selected locations starting this December.
For Aina, whose real name is Nurul Aina Abdul Ghani, 31, the challenges she faced, including moments when she nearly gave up, never dampened her spirit or determination to pursue her dream.
“I didn’t expect to break down like this (in a tearful tone)... After being in the industry for years, I’ve realised that organising concerts in Malaysia is no easy task, but I love performing. So, I told my team, no matter what happens, Aina Abdul Entertainment will push forward to ensure that our plans for the concert come to fruition.
“This concert tour is a dream of mine because I grew up watching my idols release albums and hold their own showcases or concerts. I want to do the same, for my own sense of fulfilment,” she said during a recent press conference.
She added that the tour, managed by Altus Prohouse, is also part of her efforts to promote and solidify the presence of her debut album, Imaji, which was launched in October 2023.
“This isn’t just a stage performance; it’s also my effort to connect with fans from various groups and locations. I hope this tour can extend the reach of my music to different segments of society and not confined to the Klang Valley.
“This is also an opportunity for me to interact more closely with fans from rural areas and diverse backgrounds, including students, by belting out songs from the Imaji album,” she said.
Towards this end, the winner of the Best Vocals Award at the 36th Anugerah Juara Lagu is willing to fork out her own funds, amounting to thousands of ringgit, for each concert location to ensure that fans receive the best possible performance.
However, the singer, who grew up in Seremban, Negeri Sembilan, is open to sponsorship if any parties are willing to support the tour.
“This time, we have a strategy, and from past experience organising concerts, I’ve learned that some things can be done at a lower cost. I also have a good adviser—my brother—who helps manage the finances,” she added.
“I hope that once we publicise this, many sponsors will be ready to collaborate with me. I always welcome such opportunities,” she said, adding that she will still showcase unique outfits during her performance.
The Aina Abdul Imaji Tour, organised by Aina Abdul Entertainment, will take place in three different locations: Arena Gemilang, DeTAR PUTRA, Universiti Malaysia Sarawak (UNIMAS), Kota Samarahan, Sarawak, on Dec 14; Zepp Kuala Lumpur on Dec 27; and Dewan Mu'adzam Shah, Universiti Utara Malaysia (UUM), Sintok, Kedah, on Jan 11, 2025.
Ticket prices for the UUM and UNIMAS locations range from RM100 to RM180, while for Zepp Kuala Lumpur, they start from RM288 to RM6666. There will also be seats available for Persons with Disabilities (PWD) priced at RM268, with tickets going on sale online at www.ticket2u.com.my starting Sept 10.
