Langkawi 'Dream Forest' May Be Expanded To Other States

LANGKAWI, Oct 15 (Bernama) -- ‘Dream Forest’, a forest-themed tourist attraction featuring immersive and interactive elements, is set to expand to several other states, including Sarawak, as part of efforts to promote interactive experiences rooted in local folklore.

Dream Forest Langkawi general manager Ann Nurbaya Hassan said the project’s success since its launch in 2023 has attracted the interest of various parties, including state governments eager to explore its potential in their own states.

“After the launch of Dream Forest Langkawi, many state government officials visited the site and expressed interest in bringing the concept to their states. Puan Sri (Tiara Jacquelina, founder of Dream Forest Langkawi) agreed that this concept deserves to be expanded as it is the only attraction in Malaysia that celebrates local legends and folklore,” she told Bernama.

Ann Nurbaya said discussions are currently underway with several states, including Sarawak, Melaka, Penang and Johor.

“In Sarawak, we are still in the discussion stage with the state government. There are several aspects to coordinate, including costs and implementation timelines. However, the discussions so far have been positive and encouraging,” she said.

Ann Nurbaya said if the project materialises in Sarawak, it will highlight popular local legends such as the tales of Puteri Santubong and Puteri Sejinjang.

“Puan Sri is currently exploring suitable locations in Sarawak. She wants to fully harness the natural landscape using modern technology, in line with current tourism trends that blend nature with technology,” she added.

Ann Nurbaya explained that the main objective of expanding Dream Forest to other states is to revive local folklore that has become unfamiliar to the younger generation.

“Every state has its own folklore. We want visitors to experience the magic of their own legends,” she said.

Launched in 2023, Dream Forest Langkawi is a RM20 million interactive night attraction developed by Enfiniti Group, led by Tiara Jacquelina. The attraction combines light and sound technology to bring Malay legends to life within a century-old tropical rainforest setting.
